I put the partition in when I had 2 crabs bury and since they were my first 2 I was paranoid. I still have 1 down and the substrate is a little shallow on that side so I left it in. The blue things were their temporary water dishes, which are deeper now but still on that level

Here is mine I did a 3d wall on the left side with cork bark and ghost wood. It is 40gal breeder. I got it setup late June early July
