Should I add a cover to the visible hole my crab who's probably gonna molt dug in the bottom? You can see him digging through the bottom he's so cute

If I'm able to see any of my hermies digging, as much fun as it is for me to watch them, I try to give them as much darkness as possible. But I think that it's personal preference ;)

Alright, I'll tape some paper then :) As for my other molter(?) he's been down for over a month now, should I check on him? I'm worried cause it's my first molt ever Image

Leave the molter be. My largest takes about 5 months. ;)

Oh wow, he's small-medium though, do you think he'll take that long?

I have a medium that's been down for 4.5 months now. Each one is different. Another medium I had only took 3 months.:)

The size that fits your tank. There is only one kind at our Lowe's & Home Depot, they are just all different sizes.

And don't forget, the crab underground might be sufacing briefly at night, when you aren't able to see. In that case it would take even longer.

They aren't, I can tell because the sub is exactly like it was the day before. Janet and Clawford sometimes mess up the food, but all my crabs are surprisingly neat eaters so it's hard to tell from anything but the sub

I have polystyrene insulation long the whole back side behind the heater and it has a solid lid I am thinking I may need to do the sides but then that take away viewing and light

I have three sides of both of my tanks insulated as well. It's about the crabs imho. Why does it take away the light?
