Didn't GB answer this question for you?? Kayedee has a 75 gallon tank.... Yes, it's okay to mix species.

I have 19 PP, 1 E, 2 Straws, 1 Viola, and 1 Indo split between two tanks... A 90 gal and a 120 gal. I'm upgrading the 90 to a 125 in a few months. The exotics are in one tank mixed with the larger PPs and the baby PPs are in a tank by themselves. My smallest is smaller than a marble and my largest is slightly bigger than a baseball.

They get along pretty well. I've been glued to the tank to make sure. Just because they are huuuuge! Very active and boy can they eat!

I will put it out there that the minimum recommendation for exotics is 40 gal with at least 10 in of sub.

The straws and blues sort of fall under the even more exotic of the cabbies i think. More needs than i can satisfy in my condition. But beautiful to see.
My PPs keep me busy enough. Love the color of your latest crewmates. Great pics.

The ones I've noticed that are hardest to come by are...
Rugs
Blues
Violas
And Aussies

The hardest to care for I'd say are blues and straws.

I've been waiting for shell swaps but ive read straws also heavily modify their shells too! So probably won't happen! As soon as they do and show no interest in the old shell I'm snatching them out. Chips holes and barnacles on their current shells!

I'm about to do a clean I'll see if i can get some pics. The store manager said he clipped them off flush with dog toe nail clippers. He said they were so big looked like it was weighing the poor guys down.

In the second pic you can see the dark spots that's where he clipped them from. This is one of the worst chipped ones to! (I do NOT encourage handling these guys! I was just removing him from the side of the food dish he was in.)
