I don't think he made it...

Up until Friday, he was moving. Friday, I found him streaking again and stuck in this position not moving. I filled a shell with water and slid him into it with no protest from him. He was barely moving; although it may have been my eyes playing tricks. I can't tell if he was still alive at this point, but he has been in the same position since I left him early Friday. I would always get some type of recoil or movement, but not even an antenna flicker, or leg movement; its like he is frozen. There is no smell so I am just leaving him alone until I smell otherwise. How quickly after they die do they start smelling?

After death, they usually start smelling within a day or two. However, they put off a smell when they molt too. The smell of death is very different and stronger than a molt smell. If I recall correctly, smell of death has a strong fishy odor. (I've only lost one and that was years ago.) If he has indeed passed, I'm sorry for your loss :(

Yes, a really strong fishy odour. You'll smell it.

Sorry for your loss, Bomshelter. Unfortunately, many "strreakers" start out ditching their shells because they're already ill and getting weak and the shell is just too heavy for them to carry around so it's not uncommon for them to pass on.
