Suction cups or something else?

Post by AML » Sun Feb 05, 2017 11:05 am

Hey y'all! I use suction cup hooks to hold up my nets and other things in my tat, but they always fall down randomly. Do you all use suction cups too or something else? Thanks!

I use command strips with the velcro like stuff for 16lbs. Those work better for me than suction cups. I have a few suction cup branches that hold up well in my tank, but nothing else. With the suction cups, make sure there are no grains of sand on them or the glass. :)

Edit: I also use zip ties :)

That's interesting...I've never heard that before. Please let me know how that works. :)

I've had problems with suction cups in my tank but what I found works well is to dip your finger in water and put a little on the back of the suction cup. Press it on real good after onto a dry spot where you want it hung. Seems to make them stick better.

I second this. Make sure you have a clean surface like got butterflies said. Good luck :)

I use power suction cups, which aren't as amazing as they might sound, but in general they get the job done. That being said, they have to be replaced every yearish or so because they do lose their staying power. I use vinegar to wash whatever surface I'm about to use because it cleans the glass very well.
