Ok to put decor on the back wall where UTH is?

This is where you discuss the conditions of your crabitat -- temperature, humidity, substrate, decorating, etc.

Ok to put decor on the back wall where UTH is?

Post by stinkyfeet » Mon Jul 10, 2017 1:39 pm

Hello!

First, I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the insight and knowledge on this forum! Our family is new to hermit crabs, and I got a lot of great tips from all of you.

I ordered the Ultratherm UTH from reptilebasics (I also picked up a thermostat to be safe!). Is it ok to put things like climbing nets and other decor on the inside wall of where the heater will be?

Thx!

Yes. You might have a hard time getting suction cups to stay with the heat. Avoid spraying that wall with water, as the sudden change in temperature could get the glass to crack.

Hi! Welcome to HCA!! Yes, you can decorate the wall along the heater. I would also avoid the coco mat or climbing background tho. They tend to block the heat IMO.
