I just got back home from my parents' house yesterday and while I was there, I gathered some Quikrete Play Sand for my crabs that was already moist. Is that good quality? I believe it was purchased at the Walmart in my hometown.

A lot of people recommend Quikrete. It's not what I use, but I believe it should be fine. When transferring the sand though keep a close eye on it to make sure there isn't anything abnormal or any weird smells. Also check to make sure the bag isn't ripped somewhere.
I've added new sand twice (when I made my first habitat, and yesterday when I upgraded to a 20L) and unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on non-moist sand either time. However, it smelled fine and I sifted through it and my crabs are doing brilliantly!

Maybe someone more informed can weigh in, but if you make sure to check the sand for contaminants I'm sure it will be ok.

I'm a newbie to crabs but I read you can wash and bake the sand. I baked mine last time 250F for an hour. You can probably get away with less time but I was being extra careful...

I use quickcrete straight from the bag. I like it. The crabs like it and it seems pretty clean. It likely just got wet from the hose in the garden center or perhaps it got rained on? you could rinse it to be sure. I rinsed a bag in a 5gal bucket once with a hose. Stuck the hose down in the sand till the water ran clear. It worked but I had a heck of a time getting it dry enough to put in the tank. I didn't feel like baking it I ended up dumping it out on a trash bag and letting it dry outside in the sun and Took forever.
