Heat - too much?
Heat - too much?
Hi, I'm new here. I have 3 hermit crabs, 60liter glass aquarium with a wooden lid (with holes). in my aquarium is 30°C and all the crabs are buried in the substrate for several days the temperature has risen.
it is caused by ambient heat. humidity maintained above 70%. can it hurt my crabs? are hiding from the heat, or undressing the exoskeleton? Thank you for answer.

Hello, and welcome to the HCA!
That’s a normal temperature for the daytime, I keep mine around there durning the day. They could be digging for a molt, destressing, or just hiding durning the day, crabs are somewhat nocturnal.

Thanx, I am now quieter.

Before, at 27 ° C, the crabs went through the crabitat and during the day, as the heat started they to hide. and for a while before, I bought the third crab.
