I picked this up off the clearance rack at TJ Max for 30 cents:

I suppose it's used as decor for folks with a beach theme. It appears to be in a natural state without any coatings. I'm going to boil the snot out of it in msw and if no strange residues appear, use as some tank decor.

It's a good calcium source and my crabs love climbing on them. One used to sleep inside until he got too big.

I use them, but haven’t bought them at a store like this.
My concern is wondering if the barnacle was treated.
