Hey everyone! We're using UTH for heat and I was wondering if we should keep them on the bottom of the tank or put them on the side?
Any insight and feedback is appreciated!

Definitely on the side! You don't need to heat the substrate, but you do need to heat the air. With how much depth their substrate needs to be, a UTH placed underneath won't provide that needed heat.
It can also be dangerous to the crabs if placed underneath, since it has the potential to create hot spots.

As DiD said, always on the side or back.

Here is a basic UTH guide Fleabag helped make last year. It should help you get started with placement. Insulation can be switched up a bit. Reflectix can be purchased at Lowe's in various sizes and lengths. It's a lot easier to used compared to the stuff in the guide.
