Questions about hermit crabs and plants

Post by UFO1431 » Sat Jul 18, 2020 8:05 am

Hello everybody, my name is Jacky.A breeder from China(Because I use Chinese to translate English, there may be some errors in the grammar, please forgive me)Let me introduce it first, because this is the first post.In China, there were about 30,000 people who once kept hermit crabs, but due to various reasons, many people gave up keeping them, so there are about 1,000 people left. There are novice breeders and ten-year-old breeders. Okay, I briefly introduced some premises, so let's enter the topic.Recently, some of us are discussing the issue of planting plants in the breeding environment, and our Chinese breeders will grow the air pineapple in the breeding environment (you can find the picture on Google). In addition to the air pineapple, there are also some vines placed Inside, so hermit crabs can be used to climb, and try to plant ginseng ficus in a breeding environment. And the reason for my post this time is to ask if foreign breeders will plant plants in the breeding environment. If so, please tell me what you planted. If not, you can also try planting. Plants are in a feeding environment.:

Maybe fungus so that you don’t need to feed them anymore

I don’t understand what you mean by this. Fungi aren’t a major component of their diet.

Sorry, humor doesn’t translate well here. We can’t always judge tone by text!

We know that edible mushrooms for humans are also edible for hermit crabs, so it is possible.
