Can I use this rock or is it harmful?

This is where you discuss the conditions of your crabitat -- temperature, humidity, substrate, decorating, etc.

Can I use this rock or is it harmful?

Hi, I found a really nice rock in my garden but I don’t know what it is or if it has harmful minerals that could hurt my crabs. I want to put it in the crabitat for them to climb on but only if it doesn’t leach harmful minerals into the substrate. I’m mostly concerned about the shiny parts that are softer,
dark in color and flake off easily. They are translucent and may be mica or muscovite, but I’m not sure. Do you know what type of rock is this and will it hurt the crabs?

I’m usually lax about rocks but I’m no expert. aussieJJDude and wodesorel any thoughts on this one?

All I know is not to boil rocks to clean them. They could explode. @aussieJJDude taught me that one haha!
