20 gallon too small?

Hi! I had my crabs in a large storage bin temporarily since my old tank was thrown away when I moved locations .. well for Christmas my mother bought me a 20 tall tank and stand . It is smaller than the storage bin I was using , and I definitely would have never bought that size for them , I was on the search for a tank around 100 gallons :/ I have them moved into it right now but I’m just not sure if it has enough room for them to be stimulated and travel. There are 2 purple pinchers they are about half the size of a dollar bill. Is 20 gallons enough room for them? What should I do

It never hurts to have a backup tank for isolation or emergencies, and glass tends to hold heat better than a plastic tote which can be beneficial in winter. You could also always use it for something else, like small fish! It sounds like a generous gift and that your mom was thinking of you when she got it. However yes, if they are as big as you suggest it is going to be undersized for them. I like 20 gallons for small crabs, it's roomy and has space for climbing, but I generally wouldn't suggest it for crabs larger than a big egg as they will keep growing.
