On here their is a page 'Crabitat: Calibrating a Hygrometer' but some places online say that this method is not accurate. Any thoughts or alternative suggestions?

I tried this method and if it's correct then my meter has been off by 10. Are their other at home methods to test for accuracy or is this reasonably reliable?

We recommend the method that is in our care sheet. It is accurate as far as we know.

Other then spending 8K, no.

Salt is by far the most accessable and somewhat reliable. While not foolproof, generally works well enough for our intended purposes without having to spend a small fortune for an expensive equipment that will likelh be used for 5 mins every month or so at a maximum. While it can be a little off (by a degree or two) other comercial kits use prepared salt mixes which the manufacturers suggest are 'more accurate' and 'better than traditional kits'. I personally just think they a smart, easy and interesting money grab by said companies.
