hermit crab under very wet substrate

one of my hermit crabs has emptied the water bowl somehow twice and is now under that area im scared he is going to drown do i just leave him? its not that wet on the surface

The water will seep through the substrate, it won't stay in that spot. You can take something like a chop stick and poke it down to the bottom, right along the glass. See if there is water pooling in the bottom or not. Do that in a couple of places.
