Lid suggestions for keeping in moisture

I am setting up my new tank currently… i now have hood lights over it which i didn’t have before so this is new to me. My lights seem to be putting off heat so i dont think plastic wrap would be the best idea anymore (what i am currently using on the new tank, the old one which is still in use have plexiglass on it). I’d like to be able to use the lights but i dont want any risk of it melting the plastic or starting a fire. Should i try to buy more plexiglass? Or polycarbonate sheets? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Sorry I'm not sure I understand....does a 'hood light' mean that there is a plastic hood, with the lights built in....kind of like the top of a fish tank?

Yes. Sorry. I don’t know the right name for it.

Plexiglass would be the safer bet. I don’t think the plastic wrap will melt very readily but if your lights are running hot a new lid would be a good investment
