HCA: Hermit Crab Association

This summer, I am going on a trip. Just in case my mom forgets to feed Pumpkin some nights, I’d like to add a live plant that he can forage. Nothing too big because I have a 30 gallon tank. I’d also like to note that I have tried air plants, and Pumpkin tore them up and made a mess everywhere. I’d like a plant that is bigger than an air plant, but small enough to leave some room for decoration. Any ideas?

Any plant given as a forage item (intended for them to eat) will likely be torn to shreds. Maybe some foraged items from outside if you have a space where pesticides aren’t routinely used?

This time of year in North America, dandelions, violets, and wild strawberry are fairly easy to identify and common in residential areas. You can also try digging or pulling up plantain, clover, or tree saplings (the tiny ones sprouting from seeds or root suckers, nothing planted by people) if you feel comfortable
