best way to treat cholla??

whats the best way to treat cholla before putting it in the tank ??
last time I boiled it in water is there a better way ?

I have never done anything with all of mine other than take the price tag off, spray it with salt water and put it in the tank.

I usually soak it in extra strength salt water for a day or so and then let it dry, either in the sun or in the oven on very low.
