HCA: Hermit Crab Association

A strange odor is issuing from my crabitat. It is sharp and sour, nothing like the fishy scent of a dead crab( although I have never smelled it before, so I wouldn't know really). I just changed the crabs sand and used saltwater to moisten it. I also put their large saltwater pool back in (something I haven't done in a while), and added a piece of coral and a new climber. Other than that nothings changed. Anybody know what this smell could be? Is it dead crab? ?

My tank constantly exudes a similar smell... It is almost tropical, though not pleasant.

Could there be some rotting food in your tat, that your crabs might have buried???? mine do that sometimes with smelt and other things.... just a thought!!!!
