I am sorry that the one crab did not make it. Unfortunately, that is all too common, since the process of taking them from the wild and selling them into captivity is truly abusive and traumatic; often doing damage that is beyond their ability to repair.
If the other crab's conditions are good and he is underground, the less disturbance the better. Again, if conditions are fine where he is, I would wait until he comes up by himself, and use that time to clean the main tank and make sure it is in the best conditions possible for when he comes up.
