If you have eggs/ eggshell grind that up for him. It can be hard to tell whether they are eating or not. Him being in a shell is a great start! Just try to keep the conditions stable like you are. You're doing all you can for him, and it's up to nature whether he makes it or not. At least you will know you did everything in your power to make things right for him! I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed for you guys!

He is still alive! Not eating but still trying to encourage him.

Do you have access to unfiltered unprocessed honey? It is a good healing food and also boosts energy

I do! I picked up some more Raw honey. Good news is that he has had enough strength to completely do a 180. Barely moving but looking darker and STILL IN THE SHELL!!! The tank is about 99% humidity. As soon as I take the top off it drops to 70% but then goes back up. It seems to be from the new substrate. I have a plastic panel on top, am I okay to leave the humidity up that high for now?

Okay everyone! I am feeling much better about this. He is still in his little hut but I put fresh veggies and raw honey within his grasp. I looked thru the hut and he emerged from his shell (still in it) but his feelers were up and he looked good! I dont want to disturb him too much but have a question, it has been a few days since I manually re-shelled him, that water I put in the shell must be getting stagnant. Should I:
1-leave him alone
2-gentle run some DCWater over and into his shell (or salt) to flush it out
3-dip him and his shell in a DC or SW bath

I froze tiny balls of raw ground pork. That is appropriate to give for protein correct?

If he has access to water I wouldn't worry about it, just keep doing what you are, and keep things as calm and quiet as possible for him, and he should hopefully recover. Glad to hear he's still hanging on strong. :)

OMG! He is a streaker again! Found him out of his shell near the shallow salt pool (which had gotten almost dry) I must have missed that last night. Filled everything up gave more shells, he is NOT moving well, but did eat all of the honey I had left out for him. So I reshelled (honestly that is best done with 2 people) and gave new honey. However, I noticed that all of the tips of his appendages are white. Is that part of the molt or something else going on?

I wonder if making something like this in the first two steps could be helpful? You can offer lots of things inside of it, plus it's easy to pick apart for a weaker crab. I also think it might be appealing because it's warm. I think it could be an easy way to get him to eat and get key parts of his diet. I've made the omelet before and my crabs liked it, and this is just a theory, but maybe it can help get him the nutrients he needs. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to- ... /?ALLSTEPS

I love it! He is still hanging out in the shell I stuck him in. Good sign. I shaved off some more cuttlebone and gave it to him along with some more honey. I think he is molting.
