Help ! Molting ?
Help ! Molting ?
I don't know if he is or not . He's been hiding for a couple of days. I'm so afraid to move them after the last incident . Should I dig anyone out ? He was petty much in when I saw him .

Re: Help ! Molting ?
I would peel back the layers of moss very slowly starting from the top to check.

Help ! Molting ?
So I'm not sure the one on the moss was him . Possibly just an empty shell my other one drug in there with him .
However the one that molted
A week ago is not in his old shell . He's possibly in another (I honestly didn't count the ones inside the tank ) and buried himself or he is naked somewhere ? Or could someone else have ate him ? I hope not he was strong and moving about last evening .

It's not unusual for a crab to change shells around the molting period. I doubt he is naked, but just look around your tank. And as far as another crab eating him as far as my knowledge goes I don't think he could be eaten that quickly. How many crabs do you have? Is it possible he is just crawling around in a new shell?

Re: Help ! Molting ?
I only have three . I can see my small guy through the tank burrowed in moss and my big one is on the moss pot ( I saw him while checking on the freshly malted one) . I have many shells that look the same and unfortunately have lost track of how many I had in there . It is possible that he went in a new one and burrowed down .

Don't stress, he seemed to be doing great so he most likely just dug down.

Thank you
. Crisis averted ! I found him
. He tucks really far back into his new shell . He was in the moss pot with his old buddy . Both have emerged !

Is this the one that pulled a surface molt? If so, I'm really glad he pulled through!
