Stuck leg!!!
I noticed one of my guys haven’t moved all afternoon and she is usually one of my most active hermits. I took a closer look and I believe she has her leg caught in the cholla wood. I’m afraid to help because what if I tug too hard and she looses a leg. Please help! What should I do?!?

Try to reach in and see if she will move? Hopefully then you’ll be able to see if she’s really stuck or not.

I did. She didn’t pull herself in like she usually does. I thought she was getting comfortable with me. But on closer look I noticed her current position. It looks like she’s using her other leg to dig herself out. I’ll give her another hour before I check again as to not keep her from working with me lurking.

Re: Stuck leg!!!
Do you have any coconut oil in the house? It's a crabby safe food, and you could put some on her leg to help her slide it out of the hole. Fingers crossed she's ok!

If she hasn't managed to cut herself out and is still stuck tomorrow, I'd take a pair of small wire cutters and clip the section of cholla away CAREFULLY. It doesn't look like too big of a peice, it shouldn't be too difficult to do and safer than trying to force her limb out.

She doesn't look stuck. Them sitting in one place for hours or even days is really nornal. They may even wander off at night and come right back to their favorite spot by morning.

Thank you everyone!!! She is free and roaming around again. I try to stay hands off with them as much as possible so I panicked when I thought I had to get in there. Thank you for all the advice
