Since you've come to the emergency forum, we know you want a fast answer to your question. In order for us to figure out the problem as quickly as possible, we ask that you answer the following questions as best you can. Some of them may seem odd, but they're all designed to give us the information we need to give you a good solution for your problem. The things in the [ brackets ] are there to make this post easier to read once submitted. Thanks!
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? A: 8 Inches 5:1 Sand to eco earth
2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? A: Digital and stands on the substrate. Humidity 90%, Temperature 27 C (81 F)
3. Is a heat source used in the tank? If so, what? A: No I live in a tropical country
4. What types of water are available (fresh or salt) and how is the water treated (what brands of dechlorinator or salt mix and what ratio is used to mix it)? A: 2.5 gallon filtered pools craft mesh for easy access. Prime for dechlor and Red Sea Salt for Saltwater (Made for marine fish)
5. What kinds of food do you feed and how often is it replaced? A: Fresh foods replaced once every day to every two days. I follow the food pyramid. I also offer free flow of eggshells and worm castings
6. How long have you had the crab and what species is it, if known? A: 6 months, not sure
7. Has your crab molted, and how long ago did it happen? A: Yes, a month or so ago
8. What type of housing are the crabs kept in, what size is it and what kind of lid is on the housing? A: Glass tank 55 gallons, corrugated plastic board
9. How many crabs are in the tank and about how large are they? A: 2 around medium
10. How many extra shells are usually kept in the tank, if any? A: I have 6, 4 on the way
11. Have there been any fumes or chemicals near the crabitat recently? A: No
12. How often do you clean the tank and how? A: Don't really do much except I remodeled the tank about two weeks back so I removed couple inches of substrate and changed the decor
13. Are sponges used in the water dish? If so, how are they cleaned? A: No
14. Has anything new been added to your crabitat recently? A: New wood
15. Is there any other information you would like to share that might be helpful (anything that is regularly part of your crab care, playtime, bathing, etc.)? A: No
16. Please describe the emergency situation in detail.
A: My crab loves to swim so I did not find it unusual that he was submerged in the water pool for a whole day (has happened b4). However, I saw my crab hanging out of its shell in the water and immediately fished it out. Thought it was dead and removed its shell when I saw one of the legs usually inside the shell move. Alive! I separated it and put it in a small plastic container with a bit of substrate, shell, and a capful of water. Am I doing it right so far? Also wondering why it did not climb out by itself, do I need more ways for them to climb out of water pools? Any help is appreciated!

Re: HERMIT CRAB DROWNED!!!!
There are lots of reasons why a hermit crab will stay in a water dish. It is possible that it was trying to distress. I would immediately resell the hermit crab and place it under a hideout if it can fit in the ISO housing.

Re: HERMIT CRAB DROWNED!!!!
First, you need a tank to ISO the hermit crab, preferbaly a 10 gallon. Right now there is no way to keep in the humidity and heat. Further enviromntal changes will stress the crab. Re: HERMIT CRAB DROWNED!!!!
As Jonathan stated that is a good link to follow for information regarding you naked crab.
What you can do with that makeshift ISO tank is add holes to the lid and place it inside your crabitat. I would place some honey on a q-tip near your crab and place a small cap of foods nearby as well! The honey may give him a quick boost to eat the other foods. To regain more energy.
Can you post pictures of your pools, especially your mesh ramps?
