Since you've come to the emergency forum, we know you want a fast answer to your question. In order for us to figure out the problem as quickly as possible, we ask that you answer the following questions as best you can. Some of them may seem odd, but they're all designed to give us the information we need to give you a good solution for your problem. Curly - Be sure that you are using a marine salt, and mix as per the instructions (1 Tbsp per 2 cups) so that the concentration is correct.

5. What kinds of food do you feed and how often is it replaced?

i have a bunch of custom mixes from etsy and i feed whenever the dish is empty
Curly - Be sure that they have a source of protein and calcium daily. Do you feed fresh foods sometimes too?

6. How long have you had the crab and what species is it, if known?

purple pincher, three months

7. Has your crab molted, and how long ago did it happen?

crab has not molted yet

8. What type of housing are the crabs kept in, what size is it and what kind of lid is on the housing?

Curly - HCA recommends three to five extra shells per crab. Not all shells are appropriate - be sure to check the 'shells' care sheet, and to offer some similar sizes as to what they are currently in.

11. Have there been any fumes or chemicals near the crabitat recently?

no

12. How often do you clean the tank and how?

i just changed them into this tank, i have isopods to manage waste, ill only clean if it has mold which it rarely does (i also have springtails)

Curly - I am glad to see taht it is back in a shell. Keep a close eye on it - ditching a shell and going into the water can be a sign that something has gone quite wrong. Be sure to offer some high energy foods, like honey, peanut butter, etc.
