Moving molting crabs!

I’m moving places in a week, and both my new crabs have gone down most likely to molt. They’re in a 10 gal, how can I move them for the car ride? I’m fairly sure they’re alive because there are no odors, but I got worried when the temperature dropped to low 60’s. I now have to UTH which are working well. I’m going to be in college, are UTH safe to have in college? Could I just leave it on while I’m present and turn it off when I leave? I really hope they’re safe and healthy for the move!

I would check with your University to ensure that you are able to have a tank with hermit crabs in your dorm. I would not recommend turning off the UTH for long periods of time while you are away, as the temperature could fluctuate a lot, depending on your room temperature.
As for moving, you will need to dig them up. Go carefully and gently, and be prepared to isolate each one separately from the other in case they are molting.
