16. Please describe the emergency situation in detail.
Yesterday I woke up early hours to go to work and as I always do check on them late at night as they are mostly active then I noticed this chap was hunched out his shell me being worried I opened the door and just slight moved him and he was sluggish but did move.
I had read some crabs sometimes surface molt and they normally slow up and the skin changes colour ect. So I just thought well if he is going to molt here I shall place him in a iso tub so the bigger one doesn't get peckish.
It's been a few days now but it has started to smell fishy I don't want to disturb him but not sure if he has passed.
Any help would be grateful as I am new to this hermit crab stuff.

Re: Hermit crab was sluggish but fear has died
A sudden strong fishy smell often indicates death. Sometimes they last a few months but those who are purchased sick, injured, or extremely stressed may not give a lot of obvious symptoms until it’s too late
