My hermit crab has switched genders!

:cry: My hermit crabs used to be two males but now they have molted and one is female. I think that there might be eggs and I need to know how to care for the zoea. Why do I have to keep the zoea’s saltwater moving? (They’re land hermit crabs, by the way.) How do I feed the zoea? What do I do with them? How do I store them? :?: :?: :?: :crabblush:

Crabs can’t change genders, you may just not have noticed the gonopores previously. Can you post a picture of the eggs? If they’re in the water there’s a chance it could be grain mite eggs.

Gonopores have been observed to come and go, and intersex crabs do occur.
