Is my crab dead

:cry: Ok I got three hermit crabs 2-2 1/2 months ago and when I put one of the hermit crab in he started digging. I was guessing he was molting or stress but he has not come out yet. At this point I am worried. Its almost 3 months. and is is not that big HELP

Your hermie is most likely not dead. Have you checked during the night if he's out. We must remember that hermit crabs are nocturnal, meaning they're active at night. Some hermit crabs will stay under ground for up to 6 months!

Crabs can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to molt depending on size. Sometimes they bury then pop up at night to eat and go back under.
