Hermit Crab lost 2 legs

I went to move something around in the tank and when I picked Hermy up--the rest of the legs fell off and confirmed what I had known for months to be the case that Hermy did die.

I’m assuming that cause of death was that Hermy never molted so PPS.

I’ll be getting my new crabs in about two weeks give or take a couple days. Is there anything that can be done to make them molt or any food item that makes them think about molting?

Sort of but not really. Protein and calcium are the most important for growth, but depending on their diet your crabs will devour whatever nutrients they feel they lack.

I would offer your usual foods with an emphasis on protein and calcium for growth.
