Maybe a small hide away with a small opening and I can spritz in there ?
If you decide to put a hole in the cup, put it at the top. I wouldnt spray him because that might disturb him. The exo should have a "delicious to other crabs" scent...

There is a molt smell so there may be a scent. Most molting crabs have a "delicious to other crabs" aroma, and several crabbers have commented on a funny smell, which is probably that molting odour.

Okay, now he is chirping like every 10-15 minutes, loud . It is hard to tell who it is but I am 99% sure it is him, the surface molter . Unless he went down, I wouldn't know because he is covered under a lightweight hide . And I have not looked or touched at all, which is difficult because I am worried for him . I take it I still shouldn't, not even for a second, poor guy .

He can dig his way out of a lightweight cup.
Chirping might be a call of distress, if someone got to him from under the cup. It might be worth a peek. I would peek.

He is in ISO alone, his terrarium is near another though, that is why I had difficulty telling who was chirping.

He is in a small hide and I checked and this is what I found . As you can see in the earlier posts, the exo was one piece a few days back . Now it isn't and I take it he is eating it and this is a good sign ?Image

I did not flip his shell or touch anything, so I do not know if he is still in it .

It looks like a "molt mound". Basically when a crab digs down there's a pile and when they come up there is a hole. I think that's a good sign. It will be a much more natural molt if he's underground.

YAY! Dug under is a good sign. It means he had the strength and will to do what he needed. Now you just need to wait it out for him to come back up for you. Good luck!

Thank you both so much, and everyone else who helped. Any idea how long he may take? No, I will not touch him or search, just curious because this is my first molter.
