Sounds like he'll be repairing the damage that's great!

Re: Molt
Ok I know they slow Down & become lethargic. He's not making attempt to dig anywhere. It like he's limp. Not the same crab from 2 days! I don't wanna pick him up but not sure what to do. He flinched & moved his antennas some when I walked up.KayedeeLove<3 wrote:Sounds like he'll be repairing the damage that's great!

Re: Molt
He's responsive so that's good try the honey! The first molt is always scary and stressful for both us and the crabs... Keep a close eye and make sure he's not surface molting. If he does section him off from the rest. Though he'll probably just dig down and molt. Let us know if he's worse (hanging out of his shell, unresponsive, etc) or surface molting.

Re: Molt
Update: he is moving slowly but eating & drinking great! This gives me relief!!! The Best way to describe some of his claws...it's like walking on our wrist but our hands are in the way. Does this make sense??

Re: Molt
I think I've actually read a post on here where somebody had a similar situation. I think you will have real success after a molt and it sounds like that will be soon. I'm glad you could get some relief!

Re: Molt
Hmm, crabs kinda walk along the last segment of their legs, especially when they walking slowly. Or at least, mine do...
But its great to hear that he is doing well! Maybe all he needed was some TLC?

Update: 1st off I hope I'm not bugging you guys to death! I've noticed today this claws look faded. I'm assuming that's what is called ashy? They are not the deep burgundy they use to be. He's still eating & drinking like crazy it seems.

Re: Molt
Yea lemme see if I can catch him walking. I'll do a video if he will let me. See before he could climb (still does but slower than normal) without any hesitation. The log I have for them to hide out in he lost grip which was odd to me. It's like the 1st segment is in the way & trying to walk on the 2nd segment.
So apparently this is not common before a molt?
I tried looking for the molt sac again & can't find. But I've def noticed an increase in water & food for sure.

Re: Molt
Oh, I see it! Yes this is what was explained in a past post here. I believe it will fix itself and if he's still consuming large amounts he should be digging down soon! This is not normal but i believe it too be fixable!
