Are you sure what you are seeing is not her pleiopods???
Please stop giving her salt baths. This will only stress her out and be harmful.
Can you please post a photo?

TK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR QUICK RESPONSE….
I SAW THIS PIC ANT CONTEMPLATE THE IDEA OF BEING THE PLEAPODS, BUT THE HEAD WASN’T POINTY LIKE THE PIC AND IT WAS MOVING.
I GAVE HER SALT BATH BCAUSE I THOUGHT THAT WHAT I READ IN SOMEONES COMMENTS. I WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO HARM HER. I DID RINSE HER OUT VERY WELL IN THE DECLHORINATED WATER.

You're maybe seeing her cleaning appendage? It is a little creepy like when you first see them using it to clean out their shell.

Have you offered her/him a new somewhat larger shell ? If you do he/she might change shells and leave the " worm " thing in the old shell ( if its a invader )

Home for lunch checking on Maya!
Thank you CallaLily, so appreciate the link to video but still in doubt. I don't recall the tip portion being darker. It seem all to be a white long worm.....Maya has shell in her tank and always had a variety of shell to change to kittt1. Poor thing must be missing her friends. Seems like i am punishing her. I just need to be safe. Feeling desperate, what else can i do! Plus hate my profile picture not sure how i got that there!

I still think it's probably her cleaning appendage. Can you get a picture?
You can change your profile picture by going to your control panel, click profile, then edit avatar.

Firstly,

Thank you, you are the only one on here that seems to know this is a bad idea.
Secondly, in the wild there is a "worm" that sometimes lives inside the shell of a crab. Technically it's a parasite but not a bad one. It feeds off the food and feces of the crab and also "stirs" the water in the crab's shell as it ungulates. Usually the crabs we find in shops and buy as pets don't have them because they are treated at some point with Tetracycline that kills the worm or they simply abandon the worm once they change shells. You will need to post a picture if you want people to help you.

I wouldn't say that. The majority of us feel bathing is stressful, especially frequently and in the sw.
Also, the OP hasn't been on in over a month. Please check post dates before replying.

I don't come here too often and like to share m thoughts no matter what. You never know when someone will come on and want more information. I do try to avoid the ones that are having trouble but I felt I had to point this out for anyone else who may look at this shell and think it's a good idea.

In the case of this thread, I just wanted to make sure you were aware. I hope the OP does return with pictures. I've been interested to see what they're seeing.
However there are times, imo, when it is best to leave older threads lie. I know you'll use your good judgment there but feel a reminder to pay attention to dates never hurts.
