New crab has fishy smell

I just bought a new crab and he has kind of a fishy smell and won't move. I also accidentally dropped him when putting him back in his crabitat after smelling him. My daughter ran up and bumped me and I dropped him. I think I saw a leg move after I dropped him but he was pretty limp looking when I picked him up. I don't want to touch him to much just in case he's still alive but I'm sad. I hope I didn't buy a dead crab :-(.

No he hasn't. I honestly thing he was pretty much dead when I purchased him. I'm holding out and hoping for the best....

I feel stupid for not checking him out a little better. Thankfully they have their refund policy. I will wait another day and take him back and get a new one. On the upside I think my other one is getting ready to dig down and molt. He is hiding back by a plant and had made himself a little hole this morning.

Its okay. Its gonna be trial and error taking care if these critters. But they're so cool, its worth it.
