Unresponsive Crab

Post by TheYoungCrabber » Mon Jul 18, 2016 8:57 pm

Hey guys I had 3 carbs for around 4 years now and I have one crab that is not responsive, he is hanging out of his shell and I saw him crawling and moving yesterday. I don't know what's wrong all crabs were down. I have a 4th crab but he's like 3 months with us and is out but is smaller than the unresponsive crab. I have not fed my crabs anything new besides grasshoppers. There was also a very moldy carrot that I found 2 days ago and he was near it, could it be that he ate some and he got an infection and died? I feel so bad. Another possibility is that I might have a wrong decholinator, I started using a new one because they didn't have the one I used to use at petco anymore. Can anyone confirm that API Tap Water Conditioner is safe? It has no slime coat by the way. The crab also doesn't have the dead fishy smell. It's been hot around here, I have three small UTHs on the side of the tank, could it be that it was too hot? I turned them off to see any temp difference.
I am a young Dad (of 3 hermits) I live hermit crabs and shoes.
I have 3 Purple Pinchers names from biggest to smallest Gary, Ga-tor, and Fiddlesticks. Have been crabbing for a little bit over 2 years.
