So I was feeding me hermit crabs and adding water to their tank and a while after I noticed all these white dots/ bead things all over the whole entire tank. I have dirt in my tank not sand but I don't know what they are and I'm freaking out. Does anyone know what this could be? And or what I should do?

Potting soil has that in it normally...not sure what they actually are..though I'm not sure how well potting soil would work for sub long term as it would turn to mud...

It's vermiculite, and potting soil is not recommended for crab tanks.

This might be just me, but as a friendly word of advice I would change your substrate to a sand & EE mixture. I'd be worried about the soil itself, as most of the soils that contain vermiculite are potting soils. I may be wrong, but the thought makes me uneasy, because you can never be sure what is put into it. :? Plus I don't think it'd be able to hold tunnels very well, and it may turn into mud and suffocate or drown anyone burrowing.
