No Power, Temp is around 73

We got hit by this ice storm and power is out. My heating source is run on electric so my tanks have no heat. My overall temp is 73 and I don't have any insulation set up for my tanks. Anyone know of a way to keep heat up for them?! I'm really worried about my babies.

Wrap tank in blankets and hope for the best. Hopefully power will be on soon :)

That's my biggest fear! In Michigan here, lots of snow storms!

We had the same problem here with hurricane Michael. Power was out for 3 days. A few things we did to prepare. I already had reflectix on the tank. I just put more on - literally covered the whole tank except for the top. I have an aquarium light sitting across the top of the whole tank. I just put Saran Wrap /press and seal along front of hinged top to help trap moisture. I also took my back up surge battery protector off of my computer (totally unhooked computer from outlets) and put it on my tank. That way, if power were to go out, their tank would run for a few more hours and possibly an additional day on that back up charged battery. I keep emergency blankets on hand in my car - cuz u just never know when u will need them along with body warmers. The body warmers have an adhesive
Side so I figured if the power didn't come back for a while and the temps started to drop, I could put body warmers along the glass tank and insulate with the reflectix. Just food for thought! So glad ur ok and ur power came back on quickly:)

I've heard of some people putting hot water in a water bottle and putting it in the 'tat. When I had a screen lid I used to set a muscle heat pack on top of the lid and put tarp over top of that for a temporary heat source while I was waiting on an Ultratherm to come in the mail. I guess you'd need electricity to heat that up though.
