CRAB LOST SEVERAL LEGS, TERRIBLE SMELL, BUT WON'T FALL OUT O

Post by briannashermitcrabs » Sat Oct 28, 2017 5:18 pm

My crab Fidget has a terrible smell, has lost all or most of his legs, all I see is his small pincher still attached. He smells so bad. He looks wet or slimey in his shell but he's not falling out. Do I pull him out? I dont know what to do.

I'm sorry, he sounds dead. They do get stuck in their shells sometimes when they die. You may want to leave him in the shell for whatever you wish to do with him. If you do yank him out of it be prepared for a worse smell and a lot of grossness. The shell will smell for a long time as well, even if boiled or soaked in salt water. I have had to bury ones in the past for several months to make them usable again.
