1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it?

6 in deep sand coconut fiber mix sand castle consistency

2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read?

Yes both temp at 82
Humidity 85

3. Is a heat source used in the tank? If so, what?
Heat lamp


4. What types of water are available (fresh or salt) and how is the water treated (what brands of dechlorinator or salt mix and what ratio is used to mix it)?

Salt and fresh treated with prime

5. What kinds of food do you feed and how often is it replaced?

Hermit crab shack food mixes bunch of different ones. 2 calcium 2 fruit 2 protein 2 veggie

6. How long have you had the crab and what species is it, if known?
Purple pincher 3 months

7. Has your crab molted, and how long ago did it happen? Just now surface molt now naked


8. What type of housing are the crabs kept in, what size is it and what kind of lid is on the housing?

20 gallon tank lid is wrapped in plastic

9. How many crabs are in the tank and about how large are they?
1 now was 4 medium sized


10. How many extra shells are usually kept in the tank, if any?
10 plus

11. Have there been any fumes or chemicals near the crabitat recently?
No

12. How often do you clean the tank and how?
Daily cleaning

13. Are sponges used in the water dish? If so, how are they cleaned?
No

14. Has anything new been added to your crabitat recently?
No

15. Is there any other information you would like to share that might be helpful (anything that is regularly part of your crab care, playtime, bathing, etc.)?
Been active playing eating drinking
16. Please describe the emergency situation in detail.

One of my crabs has surface molted and is now naked. Her shell was there and so were others but she is naked. Tried to reshell her not sure if it is going to work. Exoskeleton near by. Still moving claws and legs. Still looking around please help what do I need to do next. Removed all other crabs from tank. She is alone now.

Yes it’s marine salt mixed by instructions per gallon then treated with prime

All of your tank conditions look good then.. Just try and follow the re-shell guide.

Update. She is eating her exoskeleton and staying in the shell i reshelled her into. She is actively moving around to eat the exo even it is slow.
