So the two big ones have been buried for 2 weeks. The baby eats no food items. He seems to be picking at a piece if driftwood. Do they eat driftwood?

Yes they eat anything in the tank really lol even shells sometimes!

They are most likely eating it and you just can't tell. I have watched my crabs chow down on pieces of fruit or meat and when I take the food out to dispose of the leftovers it doesn't look like they touched it at all. Sometimes I can see tiny scrapes or pieces missing, but a lot of times I cannot.

From what I've read, the lil'one may be getting ready for a moult (which lil'ones will do a LOT of by human standards til they get older) if he's eating less... or he may just like eating drift wood. (Yes, they will eat wood. And moss, poop, most fruit, like, every protein ever, and don't forget, if given the chance each other - hence importance of lots o/space to moult in so they can't find each other underground and get all canabal-y. Ew.)

Wood and leaves are a huge part of their natural diets. They are sometimes called "tree crabs" as they love to climb, and hang out in the trees often. Leaves, bark, and plant matter are a staple in crabs diets. It makes sense that leaves and wood would make an easy meal to a scavenger living in/near a tree.
