Got my first crabs
Got my first crabs
Technically there my 8 year old niece who's birthday is Saturday and is not allowed any pets her mom has some phobia. so I get to keep them and she gets to help when she visits.i have relied on this site to get it setup and I think I knew more than the sales person. Setup a 10 gal with 2 tiny pp' s I figured it will give me a six month window to get a bigger tank.

Re: Got my first crabs
Congratulations on being a first time crab owner. This is going to be a bumpy ride but it will be worth it in the end.

I will make sure to post picks as soon as possible they are loving the miss pit I've seen one once since they climbed in. If the shell I put a little honey in wasn't flipped over this morning I would be worth. But they are not touching the Apple or dried shrimp. And the other night one fell in the fw pool got out fine but he used the sides and not the means I cute
Re: Got my first crabs
It is pretty common for new crabs to just want honey. It's a high-energy "healing" food, and it also is easy to eat, as they don't have to grind it up. The first month or so of crabbing is probably the dullest tbh, simply because they are usually recouping from the store conditions/ getting ready for their molts, and adjusting to their new environment still.
I just wanted to say welcome!

Re: Got my first crabs

Thanks
My niece the real owner thought i had lied about getting them they went down for a molt before she saw them.
Heres hoping he does some more exploring later when shes here.
And she named him saisho which means first probably should have told her when she just got done with her Japanese class
