I am so excited! I rescued another hermie from PetLand last night!
After I was over the grief of the adoptees that I was getting dying before I got them, I decided to get another.
They all had painted shells so I picked one that looked healthy. I then discovered that he was missing a leg. He was stuffed into a shell that was half his size. You could see 3/4 of his legs when he was fully contracted.
I got him and he was moving and wiggling the whole time we were driving home, despite the 60 degree weather outside!
So when I brought him home, it was so funny! I dipped him in the freshwater and set him free. He looked around like "Am I back home?" Then Mal, who was sitting in a corner facing out of the tank started wiggling her feelers and poking out as if to say: "Who goes there?!"
After ten minutes he went into a whale eye shell. I seriously walked in there when his ugly painted shell fell and he plopped into the whale eye.
Then he continued looking and moved to a Babylon Spirata (I think thats how you spell it)
He stayed in the Babylon all night and hasn't changed since. I threw away the painted shell.
I noticed that he and Malibu look alike, despite the fact that he is purple and red and she is orange and red. Just something about their faces and stuff just make them look alike.
