New crab not moving AT ALL
Got a small hermit crab to add to our other 2. It’s in a separate habitat for now to observe but the main tank is 50gal. New little guy hasn’t moved AT ALL. Temp and humidity is reasonably close to pet store conditions with food and water. Small amount of sand. It only has legs peeking out nothing else. No sign of movement whatsoever for an entire day and it’s midnight now. No bad smell. Why do we do next?

Re: New crab not moving AT ALL
I would get the poor thing into ideal conditions asap - which would include proper temp, humidity, and deep enough substrate. Consider giving everyone a quick dip in the fresh water so they all smell the same and nobody seems like a 'newbie' in the tank. But there is no need to continue keeping a crab in less than ideal conditions - they go through so much before we get them that they are sometimes not able to survive, but putting them into proper conditions will give them the best chance.
