Hello I am new!

Post by crabplant? » Sat Jul 13, 2024 10:48 am

Hi hi! I just got my 2 cabbies, Scorpia and Mike Tyson, 3 days ago. This place has been so incredibly helpful to my research. I wish I’d found it as my first resource rather than trusting branded information. Would have saved me a lot of time, money and stress.

Id show my current set up but I can’t figure out how to attach images. I’m happy with how it turned out! Minus how cramped it looks…… I’ll get a 20 gal next month probably.

My only question is what to expect as far as behavior goes. My guys have been hiding since I got them, which I can’t blame them for at all, and it’s cute bc they’re kinda cuddled together. I think one of them ate a little two nights ago. I’m trying to leave them alone and let them destress, but I am wondering when I should start to be worried about their behavior. I dont want them to neglect themselves bc they’re scared. Though there’s probably nothing I can do about that besides provide a good environment and leave them be.

Welcome to crabbing and to the site!

You are correct, just keep providing appropriate temp, humidity, shells, water, and diet. If your crabs are small, they will eat so little that you might not even think they are eating - but just keep putting in a varied diet and they will take what they need.

You can use either a photo sharing website, or the TapaTalk app to post photos.
