I am sorry to hear that he passed away.
What used to be thought of as 'social' behavior is not known more to be 'resource sharing'. You can get another crab if you want, but they do just fine in pairs or singles.
When I had a US address, I ordered shells from Naples Sea Shells and Richard's Sea Shells.
