Setting Up the Crabitat

Post by andrzamy79 » Thu Feb 20, 2025 3:20 pm

I have finally received my UTH heating pad from Beans. I knew when purchasing that it has no adhesive to attach. Through reading and researching I read that you can use packaging tape or foil insulation tape to attach to the tank. I would like to know if it's safe and if I will be able to remove the heat pad easily to reuse in the future.

After cleaning the fake plants with primed fresh water, will I need to let them dry completely before adding them into the tank? To attach the plants and other enrichments to the aquarium, are suction cups and zip ties safe to use.
I am currently researching everything I can about hermit crabs. I am in the process of purchasing the necessary items to properly set up my 40-gallon breeder crabitat. I would like to adopt 2 or 3 hermit crabs and provide them with a safe environment and a loving home. - Amy🦋

You can use pretty much any type of tape to attach the Bean Farm UTH. And then yes, you can take it off to move it in future if you would like.
You can use regular tap water for cleaning fake plants - I usually do a swish in vinegar and water. No they don't need to dry before going in the tank.
Suction cups and zip ties are safe.
