Chillin' crabs

Post by Sassypants » Sun Jan 25, 2015 6:56 pm

Hi all,

Of the five crabs we adopted yesterday, three have re-shelled and are active around the tat. The other two parked themselves, and haven't moved. The tank is in a quiet, out of the way location, conditions are good (80*/90%), and aside from food and water replenishment, we're leaving them alone. I know the two need time to chill out, but how long can they be motionless before we get concerned?

Until you smell something god awful fishy deathy. If you don't smell it, they are fine. They tend to find favorite spots and go back to them. Smooth the sub out around them and see if they are being sneaky in the week night time hours

Thanks single mom. We'll leave them alone and hope the air in the tank stays fresh.

Yay! Just caught a glimpse of the littlest one, Fritter, up and around and getting in a feeler fight/shoving match with one of the others. I guess he's feeling fine. Now he just has to get out of that ugly Stars and Stripes shell he is in.
