My first crab is home

I swear, I only went to the pet store for supplies but there was a lone PP looking like he needed a home. He/she was way over priced but I don't mind supporting a small town pet store and they give their crabs decent care. I also picked up three nice turbo shells at a second hand store for $5. I will get at least 1 more, possibly 2 more crabbies later today.
tanking a salt water dip
not at all impressed
Checking out the new shells
He went into one of the caves so I moved the shells closer and he is really checking the largest turbo out, I hope he changes out of the heavy shell he is in now.
EDIT: that was fast, he's now in the largest polished turbo. I'll try to get a picture if he comes out in the open.

In his new home, sorry for the fuzzy pics. I didn't want to disturb him too much.

Thanks, I'm thrilled with him:) He is checking out a different turbo now, its the next smallest which I think will fit him better. I don't know if I should have but I removed his original shell, I didn't want him going back to it.

I just got home with 2 more pp's, these are small, around quarter size. One is really pinchy but curious, the other seems stressed and just wants to hide away.

Congrats again! Have you named them yet? I usually leave the original shell in for a couple days in case the crab has buyers remorse. But, if he seems really comfy in the new shell and wasn't still hanging out next to his old one you are probably ok. I got a new crab on 1/30. He was super active the first two days and then buried. Probably molting but could even just be recovering from PPS (post purchase stress). Best just to leave them be as the acclimate. Hope all goes well for you!

No names yet, that usually takes me awhile and I haven't been able to sex the little guys yet. Everyone seems ok, running around and checking everything out. I can't find my big guy this morning, he is either under the moss or he went down. He eat a lot of honey yesterday so I hope he went down, he looks kind rough.
I normally wouldn't remove a original shell but he had a hard time dragging that heavy beast around. I was thinking about sanding it down to remove some weight.

Oh, that totally makes sense then if the shell was that much too heavy. Congrats again!
