Hi, everyone! I'm Ash and I just got three PPs the 13th! I just moved them from a 10g tank to a 20g last night~. I'll post pictures a little later because I'm having trouble with the humidity levels and I'm putting wet towels over the open spaces to see if I can't make it more humid. My biggest is Grumpy and he( I don't know any of their genders yet because I haven't been able to get them out when I hold them) is about the size of a quarter. Cat and Loki are just a bit smaller. I'm learning as I go along and I hope that I can keep them alive! I love my hermit crabs already! It's nice to meet you all!

Hey! Welcome to the HCA! It sounds like you are already taking great care of your crabs. This is a great site that has tons of information for caring for crabs, I also have learned as I go, and I still am learning. Hermit crabs are such fascinating creatures, and like you already mentioned, you will fall in love with them quickly! It wad nice meeting you and hearing about your hermit crabs! I wish the best of luck for you and your crabs!

I'm only afraid of the fact that Loki won't come out of his shell. He's come out once since I got him and anytime he is in water he comes out a little bit. I don't know if I did something wrong. I had to give him a bath once because I made the mistake of using only calcium sand when I first got them. Maybe I stressed him out too much?

Time will tell. Most of the time they perk up after a molt or two sometimes they're just shy. They have all different personalities, nothing to freak out over unless they're showing signs of PPS like dropping limbs which means they are too stressed. But shy isn't a sign you've done anything wrong especially if you're doing all you can to keep them healthy.

I have a big heater on the side of my tank already, but is there another way to make it warmer? My thermometer isn't working (I just got it yesterday too. DX) so I don't know how warm it is in there. And I don't know have a heating lamp right now.
