Newbie crabber here! what up!
Newbie crabber here! what up!
Hello crabbers. I have been creeping around here for a bit. I got my 4 crabs in April. Having a lot of fun so far. I am most surprised by their feelings toward their shells! It really shows off their personalities. I've got two that immediately hopped into comically large shells, one more that hops back and forth between the same two shells (I've seen the flip flop happen live!) and the last one was a notorious window shopper that I finally tempted into a new shell (it's green and beautiful). I'm having a really good time getting to know them. Some of my friends were skeptical that it wouldn't be any fun keeping "bugs"... but I've got aquariums and am perfectly capable of loving my fish and now my crabs. Some people should just get dogs
Thanks for running such a great forum, it really helped me get started!

Welcome to the HCA.
What is up with your username?
I'm only asking because it's very odd.

Ah crap! I totally have pictures. I just had some flooding in my tank due to running my airstone for too long, and I scrubbed my whole setup just to be safe. There was a smell... so I have some photos from when I just put it back together with new sand. I don't have anything uploaded so I'll have to figure that out later (going to work now).
Thanks for all the welcomes! There is a song called Bike Thief by Freezepop, and I guess I liked it, because I've been using that as my username for about 10 years.

So this first picture shows their love of the climbing background, which sadly went into the trash when I nearly nuked my tank after it flooded, out of fear of bad stuff growing in there. So I feel pretty sad about that. They were up there everyday.
Here's another shot from my initial setup in April.
Had to take this photo when I saw my crab just hanging out sitting on the air stone. Probably getting tickled by bubbles.
Here's my current setup from the front. Sorry about the bad reflection stuff.
